Forests

Although dominated areas intended for the cultivation of cereal and pasture in the south of the province in areas of moorland, pinewoods, holm oak and oak are present in the territory. Occupying the land of stony nature or little aptitude for agriculture, forming discontinuous masses and mosaics interspersed with farmland.

We can also find extensive juniper woods well preserved cataloged as LIC covering the foothills of the mountain range of the Solorio.

Riparian forests appear linked to river ecosystems, in the beds of small rivers and streams. The vegetation is characterized by formations of black and white poplars (Populus alba and Populus nigra) ash trees (Fraxinus angustifolia) and several varieties of willows.

Some of the most representative species of birds that can be observed Egyptian vulture, Griffon vulture, Short-toed eagle, Eurasian sparrowhawk, Golden Eagle, Booted eagle, Eurasian eagle owl, Eurasian wryneck, Crag martin, Common redstart, Mistle thrush, Rufous-tailed rock thrush, Blue rock thrush, Spectacled warbler, Western orphean warbler, Golden oriole, Red-billed chough, Hawfinch and Ortolan Bunting, among other.
